Recently I was asked to build a timber frame to be part of a base for a vertical tank. The customer had most of the timber ready to go. All I had to do was:
- Clean up the area and prepare it for the new frame
- Buy one more length of Hard-wood timber
- Measure and cut the timber
- Dig a trench for the frame
- Install the frame so it was flush and level with the concrete edging beside it
- Compact the dirt around the frame (as in, fill the trench)
I also did the following:
- Purchased and used heavy-duty steel brackets so the frame can hold the weight of the tank.
- Painted the timber frame with Diggers Eco In-Ground Timber Protecta so it will last longer
This job was done in early January. It was hot, but it was a fun job.
The customer wanted to dig out the dirt inside the frame themselves, then fill it with Crusher Dust and compact it. They also planned to install the tank themselves. All this was explained before I started the job.
